Technique Of Organic Chemistry Vol. III
The methods and unit operations used in preparative organic chemistry are treated in the present volume. The discussion of distillation and of adsorption required the space of separate volumes. Authors and editor are greatly indebted to a number of their colleagues for advice and assist- ance in the writing and editing of the various chapters: Dr. J. M. Sturte- vant (Chapter I), Drs. A. A. Morton and H. Sack (Chapter II), Messrs. E. S. Bailey and R. L. Bent and Drs. J. B. Nichols and R. S. Tipson (Chapter III), Mr. L. A. Anderson and Drs. R. J. Gledhill, E. S. Perry and W. R. Ruby (Chapter IV), Dr. E. I. Valko (Chapter V), Mr. R. P. Loveland and Drs. J. R. Anderson, M. L. Huggins and W. L. Kirkpatrick (Chapter VI), and Dr. R. S. Tipson (Chapters VII and VIII). Leona W. Greenhill prepared the subject index. The publisher's thoughtful co- operation in the preparation of this volume is gratefully acknowledged.
